Default How do I prevent my baby from becoming overweight?

My family tends to be quite heavy. I do not want my four-month old baby to get too fat as I know how difficult it is to get rid of the extra weight. I am wondering whether eating only low-fat foods while breastfeeding would help to keep him from becoming overweight.

At four months of age, your baby needs healthy fats that he or she gets from breastfeeding. Eating low fat foods only deprives your baby of this essentially nutritious. Eating low fat foods may actually make little difference in the fat content of the breast milk.

The time to worry about your baby getting fat is when the baby is a toddler and can be exposed to all kinds of junk food or can overeat too much. When your baby is four months old, eat a regular diet and know that it is not contributing to your child becoming obese.
