Default Can I introduce fruits and vegetables to my five month old?

My five-month old baby enjoys baby cereal for lunch. I am wondering if I should also introduce vegetables/fruits now or if it is still too early.

It is best to wait until your baby is six months old before introducing a wide variety of foods. You should start with rice cereal for a couple of weeks and then add vegetables one at a time to make sure there are no allergies before starting another type of food. When you have gone through a few vegetables, you can add fruits to the diet. For now, however, you can stick to rice cereal until the baby is at least six months old if you wish.

I think you can introduce only one fruit which is banana and give banana in mashed form to your baby because baby can't eat banana in it's solid condition.

No, I think it is too early to introduce fruits and vegetables before 6 or 7 months But yes you can just give him a banana, rice or cereal in little quantity!

Solid foods are best given starting 6 or 8 months. It actually depends on how your baby is tolerating the food. It is often given slowly. Others try to give their baby the same food for a week to test their tolerance and allergies.
