Default Advice on How to Handle Super-Critical Relatives?

My mother is really undermining my confidence as far as parenting ability is concerned. No matter what I do (dressing baby, changing diaper etc.) she keeps telling me that I am doing it wrong. She probably just wants to help but her constant interference is really bothering me. Any advice on how to handle super-critical relatives?

“Mom, I really appreciate your advice and I know that you have a lot of experience in this and just want to help. But I feel like you’re just here to tell me what I’m doing wrong. And it feels like that’s everything. When you give me all of this “advice”, I just end up feeling like a failure as a parent. I know that’s not what you intend – but that’s how you’re making me feel. Can we figure out a way for you to help without making me feel like I’m being put down? Because if we can’t, I’m going to have to ask you to refrain from giving your advice entirely.”

Hey you think that your mom is trying to show that you are not a good mom but i think she is right on her place because she is not trying to show you down but she is helping you because you become mom now and do remember that she is your mom so i suggest you don't get angry on her and she will soon stop doing this.God Bless You
