My six month old baby girl will put EVERYTHING in her mouth. Surely that can't be good for her? How can I teach her to stop doing that?

You can’t. She’s too little to understand. And putting things in her mouth is totally developmentally appropriate for several reasons. First, she may be getting teeth and chewing on things relieves her discomfort. It’s completely instinctual. Second, babies actually often learn about their surroundings by mouthing objects. It’s their way to exploring and learning about something.

What you can do is make sure that she has access to things that are appropriate and acceptable for chewing. And make sure that anything too small or unsafe is kept out of her reach. Because it will end up in her mouth if you don’t.

Awwww.. Its normal and no one can stop her by doing this because she is so small and cannot understand anything
