Re:I'm Exhausted; How Will I Make It?
The best news is that, someday in the not-so-distant future, you will barely remember how miserable you are now. Most babies start sleeping through the night between three and six months. I do have a few survival tips though.
First, do you get and sit in a chair to nurse your son? Try lying him next to you in bed and letting him breastfeed that way. You’ll find that you can doze while he eats. Often, the two of you will just fall asleep for a while that way. It’s really quite cozy and nice. If he sleeps in your room in a bassinet or crib, you can quickly get him back into bed before you (or he) totally wake up again.
Second, would you be willing to pump or nurse at about 11, go to bed and let your husband bottle-feed the baby for one night? Or every second or third night? Just a few extra hours of uninterrupted sleep can go a long way in rejuvenating a tired mama.
