Re: How to Take Baby Out to Lunch Without Stress?
With little ones, I have found that timing is everything. By six months, you probably have started a fairly regular nap schedule. If you think your son will nap in his carseat while you have lunch and visit, schedule it for a regular naptime and feed him just before you leave the house. If your baby is one who won’t nap anywhere but his own crib, DON’T schedule your lunch date for naptime! Go ahead and feed him before you go (one less thing for him to get upset about) – but pack a bottle just in case he gets fussy! If he’s really comfortable in a front pack or sling, use it to get through lunch.
And don’t go to the fanciest place in town. If he does start crying, better that you’re in a family-friendly environment to begin with.
