Does organic milk matter?
Ok, so now that our daughter has made the shift to regular whole milk my wife insists on this liquid gold that is organic, is infused with DHA, and was hand stirred by virgins in the Swiss Alps.
To me, whole milk is whole milk but perhaps I'm just an insensitive guy putting my daughter into harm's way. So what's the consensus...is it worth an 80% price hike?

Re: Does organic milk matter?
As far as I know,
We as humans cant digest cows milk all of the way. the Organic Milk we can digest. However, if you could find someone that sells the milk straight form the cows boob your body will digest it better. My babies prefer the Organic Whole. But you are right its real expensive.

Re: Does organic milk matter?
Had no idea we can't fully digest cow's milk. Since we have no opportunity to go from udder to baby I suppose we'll continue down the organic route. I just wonder about all these "extras" they are pumping in to justify the $4.50 per HALF gallon price.

Re: Does organic milk matter?
They aren't "extras" in the organic milk, but kind of anti-extras-- those extras you won't be getting are
pesticides which obliterate weeds and bugs, so I don't see how they can be doing humans who share a large part of that DNA no harm
antibiotics which are repeatedly shown to lower people's immune systems
all the other nasty stuff they treat those cows with like artificial hormones and newspaper paste to beef up the muscles
..which would all be going directly into your child.

Re: Does organic milk matter?
Thanks all! Looks like my wife can chalk up another notch in her "I was right" column. My side looks awfully bare.

Re: Does organic milk matter?
Sorry Greg, but as your journey through parenthood continues your wife will probably accumulate way more of those notches than you

Re: Does organic milk matter?
Organic milk & eggs are worth the HUGE price hike. Organic fruit and veggies are also good ones to pay more for! Organic meat is still better but it doesn't make such a difference that I will pay more for it. Organic fish is about the same as the other fish so never pay more for it!!!

Re: Does organic milk matter?
I've been meaning to post this for a while but I keep forgetting! Food Lion near us has this special so it may reach out to your local Food Lion. When you buy 6 milks you get the 7th one free. It ends sometime in October. In our house we go through milk like crazy so this is a nice deal. Also, for those of you who don't want to pay the outrageous prices for organic milk, now's your chance to get a free gallon of it.
