Default Cheaper Babysitting Options?

Our little one is already twelve weeks old and my husband and I would like to start spending some time together as a couple again. Our goal is to go out at least once every fortnight. However, money is tight and we can't really afford a babysitter. Do we have any less expensive options?

Have you thought of starting a babysitting co-op with some friends? It could be one friend or a few. You each get a night out – every other week or so – while the other babysits your kids. She watches your baby this weekend; you watch hers next weekend.

care.com has a listing of local sitters in your area--register and they will email you when providers register! There are ways to sort by pricing! Also, our local YMCA has a once a month "Parent's Night Out" where we drop off the kiddos for 3 hours and have dinner ALONE!! It is only $6 per kid here in NY.

If you can find a babysitter who will watch multiple kids then I would snatch them up fast! Go in with a friend who has kids. You will save a lot by sharing a babysitter. Be sure not to overload the sitter with more children than is safe. I would say no more than 5 kids per sitter. I hope this helps! (I'm a huge fan of care.com)
