This is my first child and I am very excited. I want to give my little girl the best chances and am looking for ideas on how to help her development. Are there any games I should play or toys I should get her to make sure she reaches her potential?

The mere fact that you are excited and tuned into her development is already a great sign. I don’t think there is any magic formula for creating smart babies. Our ancestors didn’t need special educational toys in order to become world leaders, great scientists, amazing artists and wonderful teachers. So, don’t worry about what the “best” toys are. You’re the best teacher she will ever have. My recommendation would be to continue to be very engaged with her. Play with her, read with her, talk to her. Sure there are some great baby toys out there. Just buy a few that look interesting and age-appropriate. But don’t forget to play peek-a-boo and tickle too. Those oldies-but-goodies are just as important now for emotional, psychological and physical development as they’ve ever been.

I completely agree. There is nothing like good, old-fashioned peek-a-boo. The best thing you can do for her is to engage her by reading, talking to her, and letting her explore her surroundings.

Idea is good . By doing this you girl get will be happy more then your hope as you are thinking about any toys .
