First, understand that you don’t need two of everything. It’s nice to have two of some things. But they don’t need to wear matching outfits every day. They can alternate turns in the swing or the exersaucer.
Second, borrow, borrow, borrow! I had twins as my #3 and #4 children. So, we had one of a lot of baby gear. And my girlfriends came out in force to provide me with other things – like an extra bouncy seat, an extra high chair and a second pack ‘n play.
Third, buy second hand. Garage sales, consignment shops and, the Holy Grail, mothers of multiples club sales all have great deals on a variety of items from furniture to clothing. You can pick up a second crib and a good double stroller for at least half of retail.
