Re:Can fruit juice substitute for fruit?
Juices can give you the same nutrients as in regular fruit but it doesn’t contain the fiber. You must drink a 100 percent juice without added sugars because juice, in general, is higher in sugar than the fruit it comes from and, if you have diabetes of pregnancy, you should avoid that much sugar. Juices also contain more calories per serving than regular fruit so it could contribute to weight gain beyond that which you would want in pregnancy. If you absolutely cannot eat fruit, however, 100 percent juice is a good alternative and will provide you with the nutrients you are looking for.
