Default How to Keep Baby Talk to Minimum and Get Back To Work

I have just returned to work after my maternity leave. Suddenly my coworkers treat me completely different. Instead of coming to me with work-related problems like they did before, they only want to discuss baby stuff. What is the best approach to let everyone know that I would like to get back to normal work now?

Tell them so and be a good example. Too much chit-chat about the baby? Just politely say, “You know, I love talking about my little one and I really appreciate that you’re interested, but I really need to get back into the swing of things here at work now. I’m afraid that I’m a little out of the loop after maternity leave so I really need to focus on work.” And then don’t be the one who starts talking about your baby doing the “cutest new thing” later this afternoon.
