Default First Saf-T-Swim Lesson!

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but this was kind of big in my daughter's life so I wanted to share with mommies who would understand!

My daughter had her first Saf-T-Swim lesson yesterday. I'm probably biased, but she seems like a natural in the water. Some of the other mothers with babies just over a year old were commenting: "Look at that little girl...she's so much younger and she's doing so well!" (Ashley is 7 months old but looks even smaller).

My husband is a scuba diver so I guess I know where she gets her water genes from. For me, I didn't even like climbing in the three foot pool at Saf T Swim. LOL

I have to say, it gave MY abs a workout, too. First, holding her for so long up in the water, then balancing her on one knee, again, in the water. And then taking a water logged baby wearing three--count 'em, three--separate garments (swim diaper, plastic swim diaper, bathing suit) OUT of the water... I am feeling it in my legs and tummy today for sure.

It was funny because today in the tub she was kicking around a bit more than usual so I started thinking, "what did I get myself into here?"

Anyone else take swim lessons or any other sort of activities with an infant? I"m thinking of doing "music together" classes next.

This is definitely a good place for the post. It's difficult to come up with categories for EVERYTHING related to babies, pregnancy, and parenting so no worries at all.

We very much look forward to swim lessons and I had no idea they started so young! Kamryn loves our pool but that amounts to us just winding her through the water. Great post.

Saf T Swim starts at 2 mos. but personally I dont see what theyd get out of it at that age. 7 months--even five or six--seems great because they understand what is going on and can interact. We felt a great sense of accomplishment watching her kick her feet by herself once we showed her how! - sorry- typing w. one hand! lol

Congratulations! That is exciting.
My son is 3 months, and we're planning on starting swim lessons at six months (that's when our local pool starts).
There is also a program here called KinderMusic.
Has anyone had any experience with that?

KinderMusic is something we plan on doing with Kamryn as I've never seen a baby more excited about hearing music. She'll bounce up and down, shake her head, and all but refuses to release her grip on the little moraccas and bells that Michael gave her. I do know that KinderMusic extends benefits beyond an appreciation for music when it comes to development so we look forward to it. She'll probably lose her mind!

We did Kinder music too. It is so much fun! We also went to gymboree. My little acrobats loved it!
