Taking photographs of your growing belly is a lovely way to capture this miraculous moment in time. Often we feel unattractive. The aim is to connect you to the beauty of being pregnant. It won’t be like this forever, and it can be a fun way to explore your ever so quickly changing shape.
During your last trimester is a great time to document the evolution of your growing baby. You should give a photography session at least 2-4 hours to comfortably get to know your photographer, ease in to a rhythm with him or her for the day. Choose a location that makes you happy and at ease – a beach, a park, your backyard garden. Include people or things, like your partner / spouse, other children, anything that will render the images more natural. Most photographers will give you a limited number of printed images, as well as a digital archive, after the shoot. Make sure you clearly understand the scope of what is received prior to your session.
Remember, the focus here is you and your belly! I recommend form-fitting clothing that shows off your bump. You can also use props that reflect your personality – a fuzzy robe, colorful flowers, your dog or cat, a lolly-pop. You want to feel comfortable and special.
