If you're really nervous about it then call and insist on an appointment earlier. When I was 36 weeks my doctor was booked and the nurse insisted I couldn't get in until I was 39 weeks!!! I was shocked but just took the appointment and went home. The next day I worked up the courage to call them back and the doctor was so nice and they found a day for me at 38 weeks (lol, mute point since DD was born at 37 weeks... but that's another story). Long story short - give your doctor a call. Being dialated at 34 weeks isn't really bad, but I wouldn't want to wait 3 weeks between appointment if I didn't have to. If for some reason you cant get it just take it easy and pay attention to your body. If you notice any unusual changes (water leaking, stronger or very regular contractions, etc) give your doctor another call or head straight to your maternity ward. Much, much better to be safe than sorry.
