Default Tingling Breasts - First Trimester

I am 11 weeks pregnant today. For a couple of weeks now I have had that weird tingling and stretching sensation in my breasts. Surely it is still too early for me to produce milk? Then what could that feeling be and will it keep up until the end of pregnancy? It isn't actually painful but definitely strange.

This is actually a symptom of pregnancy for some women. You’re lucky if it’s just tingling. Some women’s breasts get so sore that they are painful to the touch and sports bras are necessary even to sleep.

Breast tingling or tenderness is caused by an increased blood flow. A pregnant woman’s body immediately gets to work creating more blood to sustain the new life inside of you. Another reason for the tingling is the readying of milk glands to help feed your baby.

For most people, the pain or tingling in their breasts fades as they head into the second trimester. There may be some mild breast tenderness throughout the pregnancy but nothing like those first few weeks!

The hormonal changes that are going on in the breasts can cause these tingling sensations. It does not mean it will last the entire pregnancy. The feeling is more from the hormonal changes than actual milk production. Women start leaking from the breasts at various times during pregnancy for different women but not usually this soon.

congrats on your pregnancy. I felt the same way with my first pregnancy and never sore tinlgly breasts with the second baby but here I am pregnant with #3 and I feel like you. It's all hormonal so bc your body is producing more oestrogen and progesterone. Your tingling tatas are increasing in size as the fat layer thickens and extra blood. Not to mention milk glads getting ready to prepare for feeding once the baby arrives. Enjoy and wear a supportive bra to help any stretching!!!

Hi! That is just one symptom of pregnancy, yes that is already the start of your breast adapting to the new change in your body, plus the hormones which are responsible for it for milk production later after birth. Don't worry this question isn't stupid, it's a normal feeling and you'll get used to it even after pregnancy when you are breastfeeding already.

Hi first of all I would like to congratulate you on your baby. Being pregnant there are a lot of hormones that is very vital in these stage. Oestrogen, (also normally fashioned within the ovaries, however shortly within the placenta) strengthens and prepares your womb for the implantation of the fertilised egg, prepares your breasts and encourages milk production. So these is normal.
