Re:Sleeping Tips for Last Six Weeks
Those are the hardest weeks. I think I tried everything. I tried body pillows between my knees. I tried pillows that curved all the way around my body. I tried sleeping on my left and sleeping on my right. I tried sleeping in the guest room so that I could really stretch out. Some nights, these things worked and other nights, they didn’t.
I would recommend some sort of body pillow. Having something between your knees as you try to sleep on your side will take some pressure off of your lower back. You may also want a pillow under your hip as the longer you sleep on your side the more sore your hips get.
At the very, very end of my pregnancies, I slept often in a reclined position on the couch. I took a stack of bed pillows and my body pillow and positioned my self into a half sitting, half lying down position. I know many, many women who swore by a recliner for the last six weeks of pregnancy as well. That position relieves back pressure, hip pressure and snoring!
