Default Will My Coughing and Sneezing Hurt the Baby?

I am nine weeks pregnant. Right now I have a horrible cold. My doctor says not to worry but surely all that sneezing and coughing can't be good for the baby?

Listen to and trust your doctor! Your baby is so cozy and well-protected in your uterus right now that he or she probably doesn’t even know that you’re coughing and sneezing. Your run-of-the-mill everyday life will not cause a miscarriage. Miscarriages this early are generally caused by genetic abnormalities or other biological issues. Think about how many thousands of pregnant women get colds. Coughing and sneezing may cause you some discomfort later on in your pregnancy as your belly gets bigger. They can cause you to pee your pants as you grow! But, I’m with your doctor on this one, they’re not going to cause a miscarriage.
