Default Coach potato wants to change

Everyone says exercise is important in pregnancy. Unfortunately, I have turned into a bit of a couch potato over the last couple of years. What is some exercise that would be safe for me to start now even if I am out of shape? Definitely check out our Fit Mom, Fit Baby eBook as it will help guide you to a safe and effective exercise regimen.

Always start with something simple like swimming laps or walking. Work your way up in the amount and intensity with which you exercise so that you are briskly walking for at least a half hour a day or swimming intensively for a half hour a day. This should increase your metabolic rate and help keep your weight down during the pregnancy. On a treadmill, you could get up to a light jog as long as you are well trained and the risk of injury is low.
