Default Preeclampsia and pregnancy diet

I am 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first child was born six weeks prematurely by c-section because I suffered from Preeclampsia. Are there certain foods or a certain diet that will help me to avoid the condition this time around?

Preeclampsia is commonly s phenomenon of first pregnancies and tends not to repeat itself in subsequent pregnancies. It has been known to happen in subsequent pregnancies, however, and you need to be watched carefully to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Preeclampsia is a phenomenon where there is high blood pressure and swelling of the hands and feet during pregnancy. No one knows the exact cause of preeclampsia but eating less salt is a good idea if you are at risk for preeclampsia. Monitoring your blood pressure is another good idea and keeping regular doctor’s visits so as to catch it before it takes off. There is no specific diet that will keep preeclampsia from occurring.

I had pre-eclampsia but only had to have c-section at 37 weeks. I don't think diet or anythingelse has much to do with it, but it's a good excuse to put your feet up

There's a diet called the Brewer diet which is said to have success with avoiding preeclampsia/toxemia. There's some info about it at BlueRibbonBaby.org Home
