Do I have to take baby clothes for baby to wear while we are in the hospital or will the hospital provide those? What about diapers?

While you and the baby are still in the hospital, they will provide diapers and clothes. The clothes will consist of a t-shirt or dressing gown. I wouldn’t bother bringing clothes other than those you’d like him pictured in and those you want him to be brought home in. The nurses need to check him out, poke him and prod him. They need to compare ID bracelets (usually on baby’s ankle). So, leave him in the hospital clothes and blankets until it’s time to head for home.

And they will have plenty of diapers. They may even give you a few sample diapers to take with you. You’ll want to throw a few into your bag just to have in the car on the way home (not that you’d change him in the car while it’s moving – but better to be safe than sorry!).
