Re:What to Pack for the Hospital
I always took a robe. And socks (hospitals can be cold and you’ll want to walk around a little bit). Make sure to pack elastic hair bands to keep your hair in a ponytail and off of your face during labor and delivery. And don’t forget your nursing pillow either! My husband always packed a little A/V bag with cameras and phones and very, very important things like chargers for the digital camera, video camera and cell phones.
You’ll also need a going-home outfit for baby with blankets and a car seat. And phone numbers of people to call. And your birth plan if you have one.
I’m not sure that I can remember anything I packed that I didn’t need. Maybe reading material? I’m not sure what I though labor would be like but I didn’t get a lot of People magazine read during that time. And afterwards, there was a constant parade of visitors and nurses, regular breastfeeding and baby gazing and some good naps. Nope, magazines weren’t needed.
Anyone else have some tips?
