Default How Can I Avoid Morning Sickness on Vacation?

During the early stages of my first pregnancy I went on a trip to the mountains. Let’s just say it was not a good idea. My usually fairly mild morning sickness worsened to the point where I spent the better part of the day in the bathroom! Now I am expecting my second child. In spite of everything, we would like to go on a short vacation as a couple (our son would stay with his grandparents) before the new baby is here. However, I do not want a repeat of the constant nausea. How can I make sure that doesn’t happen again?

Wait until your second trimester to go. You are less likely to have any nausea then. And don’t head for high altitudes where you’re bound to feel a little light-headed anyway.

If you do anticipate more morning sickness, take a bag with you containing small snacks, a soda and a water to keep your stomach settled and your body hydrated. These things may not cure your nausea but they should help.

That’s my two cents – does anyone else have any other tips?
