Default Do Ride Restrictions at Disney World Apply in First Trimester?

We are going on a trip to Walt Disney World, Florida, in about three weeks. Now I just found out that I am pregnant. I know there are restrictions on some of the rides at Disney World for pregnant women. However, I wonder whether they would also apply to me as the pregnancy is still in the early stages (I’ll be about eight weeks). Can I ride everything or should I pay attention to the restrictions?

Yes. They apply to pregnant women and you are pregnant. You’ll ultimately make your own decisions (and maybe on a ride-by-ride basis) but I think you should definitely pay attention to the restrictions. Keep in mind that most miscarriages occur during the first trimester. We’ve all heard about women who miscarry after being involved in a car accident. Now think about the amount of jostling, shaking, bumping and whiplash you experience on certain amusement park rides. It’s very similar.

I think I’d have a hard time living with myself if something were to happen. I’d always wonder what could have been if I had made a different choice. A little dramatic? Probably – but is it really worth the risk?
