Default Should I Feel More Movement with Twins?

This is my second pregnancy and I am 20 weeks pregnant with twins. I am rather worried though as I don’t feel more movement than in my first pregnancy. Could it just be that these babies are calmer or could there be something wrong?

Default Re:Should I Feel More Movement with Twins?

They could be calmer. But they could also be smaller. Or situated differently in your uterus. Or you may be unable to differentiate between their separate movements. It’s hard to say. Their room to move around is quickly getting smaller as they grow larger. They don’t have the same room to flip around as your singleton did.

If you have some concerns about movement, be sure to talk to your doctor. She will, at the very least, check fetal heart rates via Doppler to make sure they’re doing okay. And at 20 weeks, you should have an ultrasound scheduled soon. You’ll be able to check out their positioning and figure out what it is you’ve been feeling – is that Baby A’s foot or Baby B’s hands? Is that a butt or a head?
