Default Eating for Three

So far in this pregnancy I have taken great care to eat a well-balanced diet. However, I just found out that I am expecting twins and now I don’t know whether I have been eating enough for two babies. How much more will I have to eat to make sure both have all the nutrients they need?

You’ll need to add about 600 calories to your daily diet to provide for twins. Make sure that you’re getting sufficient folic acid and iron through dark green leafy vegetables and other sources. Make sure that you’re getting enough calcium. Don’t double up on your prenatal vitamin but do ask your doctor about whether the standard prenatal vitamin formula is right for you.

You should take a healthy diet and you should take as much food as you can .. Try to take much calcium, vitamins and other nutrients side by side with your food!
Take care!

For mothers expecting twins, they need at least 300 extra calories per baby. It means that apart from the total calorie intake their body requires, they need to add 600 calories more. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and protein-rich foods are encouraged.
