Default Water skiing during first trimester

We were planning to go water skiing next week. I just found out that I am pregnant and will be six weeks along by the time we wanted to go water skiing. Would it be okay to take part as long as I am careful?

Default Re:Water skiing during first trimester

Water skiing is probably one of the only exercises that would not be recommended at any time in pregnancy due to a phenomenon called a “water douche”. This happens when you fall while water skiing and the force of the water pushes water up into the vagina and possibly the cervix. This is not safe at any point in pregnancy and can result in a pregnancy loss. You can ride in the boat but forego waterskiing until after you deliver the baby.
