Default Weight training in first trimester

Am so excited about expecting my first child! But now I am starting to wonder if my weight lifting exercises are a good idea while pregnant. I usually do a small number of repetitions with heavy weights two or three times a weeks. Is that a good routine to keep or should I change it somehow?

Weight training is safe in pregnancy, especially if you have been doing it for awhile and are already well trained. You should avoid any weight training that keeps you flat on your back for two long or any exercise that could result in injury to the uterus. Otherwise, you can continue to exercise as you have been.
