Default Out of breath after only 5 minutes of running!

I have a question. I love to run and have been doing so ever since college. So far, I have continued running (at a somewhat reduced speed) while pregnant. Now I am 30 weeks pregnant, and I am completely out of breath after running for less than five minutes! What am I doing wrong? Is there a special breathing technique to use when running while pregnant?

Default Re:Out of breath after only 5 minutes of running!

It is normal to be short of breath with activity during the third trimester because the uterus is pushing up against the diaphragm and limiting its excursion. Nothing you can do can prevent this phenomenon from occurring. As you get closer and the baby “drops”, your breathing will be easier and you can exercise again with less difficulty. In the meantime, cut back on your workout so you and your baby can breathe easier.
