Default No time to cook now that the baby is here!

During pregnancy I worked hard on eating a balanced diet. But now that my little girl is here, I barely have time to shower. I just don’t seem to find the time to cook a nutritious meal. Are there any snacks or precooked meals that I could stick to until I once again have the time to cook myself?

There are healthy and nutritional frozen dinners you can easily microwave in order to get the nutrition you need. They are relatively balanced and some are lean meals that can help you lose weight after pregnancy. You can also stick to meat or peanut butter sandwiches for lunches and cereal or oatmeal made in the microwave for breakfast. Look primarily in the frozen food section for the foods that can give you nutrition without having to cook yourself.

two words- crock pot! get your meats and veggies into a pot early in the morning- then grab a salad in the bag and you will have a great hot meal for your family by dinner time. on the weekend put together some veggies and dip into a ziploc bag- put some granola and nuts in another, grab one of these bags- a yogurt and a glass of water for those quick snacks in between meals. lots of little meals are better than a huge meal three times a day!

I invested in the already prepared veggie/fruit trays. Anytime I would nurse, I would grab some veggies or fruit to munch on. When anyone would come to see the baby, they would bring food.

If you could have some one help out maybe watch the baby for you, you could make meals to last for a week or so and freeze them so all you have to do is heat them back up. I did that for like the first 6 months! Also keep fruit and granola bars. There are also Cliff Bars.

I like Smart Ones forzen entrees...they are on sale at Target all the time! My kids are 7 and 3 and I still have a hard time finding the time to make myself a healthy lunch!

Veggies like baby carrots and celery sticks are GREAT snacks and require very little prep time. I try to pre-cut the celery into the same size as the baby carrotts that way i can just grab a sandwich bag and stuff that into my purse on the way to the park with the kids

I'm a huge fan of freezing meals a head of time. If you have time to make one lasagna you have time to make two and freeze one for later. Lasagna may not be the absolute healthiest option but you get the point! Talk to your husband about it and perhaps you two could tag team one Saturday and prepare the meals for the following week. I also adore my crock pot, great for dinners! Snacks in my house consist of fruit and veggies, whole wheat gold fish, raisins, wheat thins, and the occasional granola bar. I hope this helps!
