Default Took Meds for Fever Before I Knew I Was PG - Is That Okay?

I had the flu a couple of weeks ago and took some medication for the fever. It wasn't until later that I found out that I am pregnant. I am worried that I might have hurt the baby by taking the meds. Is that likely?

Occasional use of ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) during early pregnancy is not generally considered to be risky to your baby. It should not be used for chronic pain relief while pregnant and should not be used at all in your third trimester. Similarly, other NSAIDs like Aleve should not be used – but if you used it just that once, early in your pregnancy, it is unlikely to cause any problem.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is fine to use throughout pregnancy but only in the recommended dosage. Too much acetaminophen can lead to liver damage.
