Re: How Do I Know if Pregnancy is Ectopic
Some women do have sharp pains in their sides with an ectopic pregnancy – often between six and nine weeks. If the pregnancy is ectopic, the pain will often but not always be sharp and localized. There may be red or brown spotting. The pain will probably get worse with activity. If your twinges are persistent, call your OB and ask them if your symptoms suggest further evaluation. An ectopic pregnancy can usually be diagnosed with a pelvic exam, ultrasound and/or blood tests.
If the tube has ruptured, you will experience pain in your shoulder and/or dizziness. In that case, call 911 immediately.
