Default Pre-PG Clothes Too Tight; Maternity Clothes Too Large

I am 14 weeks pregnant and don't know what to wear any longer. My regular clothes are so tight that I feel like I am about to burst. The other day I tried on some maternity clothes at the store and looked like a walking tent. There is no way I could wear those yet. What should I do?

The dreaded transition period. Go ahead and pick up a few pieces of cute maternity wear. And a belly band. There are several different brands – but it’s basically a wide elastic band to wear around your waist, over your pants, under your shirt. It can allow you to keep your old jeans up even if they aren’t buttoned or zipped all the way. On the flip side, the bands also help keep too-big maternity clothes up until you can fill them out.

The other thing you can do is buy a few cute pieces of yoga/lounge wear. Cute enough to go to the store in but comfy enough to lie around the house in. These pieces are stretchy enough to grow with you for a while. They’re also great to have around during the first few post-partum weeks.

my daughter kept a bin of clothes that were the early preggie clothes- they were one size up from her normal size- this bin was also good in the early postpartum period before those extra pounds were gone. you can also find that elastic or drawstring skirts are a great in between item.

You know, I would use a rubber band and loop it around my button hole and then button my jeans that way. With a long shirt one no one will ever know the difference. My husband never knew I did that until a good 16 weeks into my 4th pregnancy, LoL.

I shopped at the Goodwill when I was first preggers with my 2nd child--I just bought some maternity jeans that have the elastic waist and wore those for a while and again after the baby was born.

A lot of blouses now are flowy and can be worn while pregnant

You can make your own belly band, too! Very simple!! Google "how to make a belly band" and you will find tutorials!
