Default Morning Sickness still

I am 23 weeks and still have morning sickness. It's not as bad as it used to be but I thought that I would be over this by now and I'm not. Anyone else having this problem? Is it normal? I know everyone's pregnancy is different, just curious...

You'll hate the answer because "everyone is different" isn't what expectant moms want to hear! But, in reality, it's true! Diet, lifestyle, stress, sleeping patterns, and more can all influence the wonderful phenomenon of morning sickness.

For my wife, she had bouts of it for a few weeks and then it would subside. Only to return now and then as the pregnancy continued. I know that many don't expect it outside the first trimester but from watching Heather, I think it's more drawn on hope than experience.

I do know that we have lots of posts and even some articles on how to deal with morning sickness. Just in case you've tried and failed with other remedies.

Oh man, I had it bad. I read about taking b6 supplements, tried it this last pregnancy and the sickness was gone in 3 days.I was so mad that I'd never heard of it before.

I used the 50mg caplets, they're safe, I asked my midwife. She said to take as the bottle directs for up to a week, then hold on to them in case the 'yuck' came back. Never did, just a bit oogy over certain foods at times.

Hope this helps!

This can be a real pain in the butt!!..I had it realy really bad with my son..In fact Iost 32 pounds while pregnant and was in and out of the Dr's office every week to get fluids..

Nothing helped me...not even the drugs!

I was told that sometimes a women's body can't handle the influx of hormones produced by carring the opposit sex....I have had 3 other pregnancies..2 living girls, no morning sickness and 1 loss and I had it bad with that one too so I would bet it was to be a boy!!..

Everyone is different..Talk to your Dr or Midwife...find what's best for you..remember to drink lots of water!!...WATER WATER WATER!!...even if you think you are just going to throw it up anyway..DRINK IT!!!...

I was lucky in that I never had morning sickness in the first trimester as most people do. Mine didn't start until around 24 weeks, and it was sporadic. But by 30 weeks, I was never sure if I was going to be sick from minute to minute - it could come and go suddenly, all day long.

The only thing that helped me was making sure I was hydrated - I drank a ton of water and some Gatorade each day.

Everyone is so different. But one thing is for sure, it all goes away the moment you have your baby.

Hang in there.

For most people it eases off when you hit the 2nd trimester, but not for all. Definitely keep hydrated and that should help.

I got it bad throughout my whole pregnancy but I found something that helped 100% of the time (for me). I kept a bag of Saltine crackers by my bed and would set an alarm for like 3 a.m. I know it sounds crazy but hear me out...haha. I would eat like 6 or 7 and when I woke up for the morning I felt great. It seemed like if I went too long without eating, the morning sickness would kick back in. So throughout the day I would just randomly eat crackers between meals. Worked like a charm! =)

One of my clients was sick as a dog all through her second pregnancy. What helped her is Certified Therapeutic Peppermint oil diffused into the air. It's very important that you not apply it to your skin, however because peppermint is an oil that can only be safely inhaled and not applyed during pregnancy. Ask your doula about this as well and she should help you know the safe handling of it. Another option is Certified Therapeutic Lemon oil, again inhaled. You can do this by using a diffuser or by putting one drop into hot (not boiling) water and wafting it to smell it. It's seemed to help some of my clients, and others it doesn't so you'll just have to see. But I do hope that helps!

I had to just eat all day! I couldn't let my stomach get empty at all. All of my drinks had to be half frozen. I liked the flavor-ice popsicles and smoothies. Candy canes helped too.
