I didn't have any cramps -- or spotting -- for that matter with my pregnancy. But I just want to know -- anyone else get cramps in the first trimester? Is this normal? She mentioned it as if it were normal and I didn't want to scare her, but when I hung up the phone I began wondering.
Any input appreciated... and good thoughts / prayers for my friend's pregnancy to go to term, too.

Yes, cramping can be very normal. I had cramping with all four of my healthy pregnancies. I've also had a couple of miscarriages in there, so I know how incredibly nervous the cramping can make you, even if you
know that is totally normal. Have your friend take it easy when she can (if for no other reason but to help her relax) and if the cramping get bad
or if she's just really worried about it she should go and see her OB. I know towards the end of my first trimester with my last baby (she's just 11 weeks old right now!) my cramping got to be more than I thought was normal and my OB had me come in right away - for no other reason than to do quick ultrasound to set my mind at ease.
Best of luck!!!!
