My name is Lauren Dawson Strebel and I am the mother of fantastic son, born in 2002. He, along with my own wonderful doula, is the inspiration for my interest in the field of childbirth. My childbirth experience was wonderful and I had a superb Midwife. I nursed for a year and experienced all the ups and downs of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. - I trust and believe in birth.
- Women have been giving birth for many centuries and women's bodies were designed to deliver and care for babies.
- I support women with no judgment on their methods of laboring. If they choose a medication free labor, I embrace and support them just as readily as someone who chooses an Epidural. Then again, I also believe good things come with hard work and perseverance.
My role is to support you in whatever decision you may choose.
Packages & Services
- 1-2 hour in home Interview/Doula Overview
- 2-hour Prenatal Birth Planning Meeting.
- Unlimited phone and email support.
- I can meet you either at your home or at the hospital/birth center.
- Assist in various comfort measures and positions during delivery
- Help maintain an environment that welcomes birth
- Adapt to whatever it is you need
- As a Professional Photographer, I can take photos before, during and after your birth
- I stay with you for an hour or two to help with initial adjustment and breastfeeding
- After your birth I visit your home to re-cap your labor and delivery and provide all pictures and your own Personal Birth Story.

Lauren Strebel is a wonderful doula! She was supportive of my husband and I from our first meeting, through the birth, and afterward in follow-up. Lauren is warm and engaging, and also extremely professional and knowledgeable. I had some concerns that a doula would somehow make my husband feel less necessary during the birth of our baby, but Lauren was instrumental in helping him learn how to read the contractions and coach me through them (a great deal more assistance than the Lamaze classes we took!), and her presence was comforting to both of us. Because of her, we had the natural birth we had wished for, and a wonderful experience together.
I think it's worth adding that my ObGyn, though open to having a doula present, also voiced some misgivings based on mixed experiences he had had. After the birth, he said that Lauren was the best doula he had ever seen, and that she would be his recommendation to his patients who wanted a doula.
Lauren made our daughter's birth the joyous and spiritual experience we had hoped for. We can't recommend her enough!

Lauren was so incredibly supportive during my pregnancy and labor! My husband and I felt so supported throughout our entire experience! She is absolutely wonderful!! The best part is that you gain a wonderful friend through working with Lauren!
